Disaster
Resources Network (DRN)
DRN collects the information about
likely disaster threats and the
resources required when such
disaster is struck. The resources
include man, machines/equipments,
support services and key persons in
the government and society for an
effective disaster management.
The information collection is
Village centric. DRN is linked to
GIS system. The information is
structured in such a way that it is
consolidated at Taluka, District,
State or Nation level.
This information is updated
periodically to maintain its
usability. This information is made
available to Public through
Internet.
Disaster Management Operation (DMO)This lays down Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP) to be followed in
the event of Disaster. DRN
information is the most important
tool for DMO. SOP and the
corresponding supporting information
from DRN is available in Printed and
Electronic form.
The properly laid down SOPs with
supporting information from DRN will
make Disaster Management more
efficient and effective. |
